Chapter Seven: TroubleTrouble

The sun shines brightly
And the darkness it breaks.
I can feel its warmth
As I start to awake.

I open my eyes
And breathe in the fresh air.
"A new day," I think,
"For our wolf and fox pair."

My stomach rumbles
As I catch the scent
Of prey that we stored,
And I feel quite content.

A twinge in my leg
Tells me that I am sore
From hunting last night,
And perhaps something more.

I try to get up
So my legs can be flexed,
But I cannot stand,
As if I have been hexed.

My head turns around
And I'm surprised to see
My good wolf friend, Zack,
Lying on top of me.

His gold eyes are closed,
And yet I see a smile.

Chapter Six: DreamsDreams

Running running running,
Through the woods once more.
The hunters have found us;
Their chase makes us sore.

Dodging trees and bushes
While staying aware.
One wrong move could kill us;
We must run with care.

Snow steps upon a trap,
And it snags a paw.
He then cries out in pain;
Caught by the trap's maw.

I run to help, but then
Snow's shot in the head.
He lets out a sharp yelp,
And then falls down dead.

I run at a hunter
Biting, hard, his knee.
I am filled with anger!
They just stole from me!

Growling, clawing, biting;
As sharp as a knife.
A hunter aims his gun,
And then ends my life.

My mind jolts me awake,

Alright, I'm pretty proud of this. I even went on the internet to make sure that I got the wolf paw correct.
So this was a project for my Art class. We traced our hands and had to do some transitions with colors. Then on the inside of the hand we had to do some type of black and white design. I chose this, and got a 10/10! I am really happy! My history teacher even said this picture would make a great cover for my book, once I decide to make it.

Also, if you are inclined to try this yourself, this can be used as a base.
