Chapter Six: DreamsDreams

Running running running,
Through the woods once more.
The hunters have found us;
Their chase makes us sore.

Dodging trees and bushes
While staying aware.
One wrong move could kill us;
We must run with care.

Snow steps upon a trap,
And it snags a paw.
He then cries out in pain;
Caught by the trap's maw.

I run to help, but then
Snow's shot in the head.
He lets out a sharp yelp,
And then falls down dead.

I run at a hunter
Biting, hard, his knee.
I am filled with anger!
They just stole from me!

Growling, clawing, biting;
As sharp as a knife.
A hunter aims his gun,
And then ends my life.

My mind jolts me awake,
Jus

Chapter Five: SpringSpring

Outside in the rain,
Our fur getting wet,
We laugh and we play;
Our tails trying to get.

A fun game of tag
In a wide open field.
Not a single bush
You could use as a shield.

Snow's fur is now brown,
While mine is still the same.
We have been good friends
Since that one blizzard came.

The grass becomes mud
And it's time to go in.
We race to the cave,
Hoping that we will win.

I reach our home first,
Then I slip on the ground.
Snow comes running up
And jumps in with a bound.

"I beat you!" Snow says
As I get to my paws.
"Only 'cause I slipped,"
I answer. "That's the flaw."

"We'll call it a draw."
Snow replies with

Friends are good to have around
When you are feeling down.
They can always cheer you up
And take away your frown.

Friends can make you laugh and cry
Or make you smile once more.
They are always there for you,
Even when you feel tore.

It's an extremely tight bond
That almost none can bend.
It's also a great pleasure
To be called a best friend.

Though you and your friends may fight
And start to bite and claw,
You will get back together,
And shake each others' paw.

Never give up on your friends;
They won't give up on you.
If you say you'll stand by them
Then they will stand by you.
